The Hound Of Heaven

The Hound Of Heaven is a 182 line poem written by Francis Thompson and published in 1893.The title was daring and intriguing and deliberately so: You see many could accept a title like "The Hound Of Hell" as humans have a fixed mentality that God is good and all correction and discipline is bad and cannot be God! Wrong big time! God is your daddy,(ABBA) .. not your sugar daddy!

God is at work in the life of every one reading this little blog:Yes He's crazy in love with us but that means He diciplines us as His own: He even employs some rather nasty characters to carry into effect that discipline. Not nice at all!

Paul is given as our pattern in this life (1 Tim 1:15-16) and his life was full of challenges, beatings, loss of friends and even stoned once and left for dead.It all started for him, and for each one who is a believer, in falling off our horse: That horse is of course the old self life, the Ego which must be crucified:

This poem is my account of Normal Christian Life in 2017. I'm sure you too have a story to tell! (Gal 2:20)

"One day I hit the ground and stopped and ceased to be ..
and found, like Paul, I'd been tumbled from my horse.

Disaster followed by prayer after pleading prayer: 
Oh to rise and ride again and win again the love 
and honour of other exalted parcels of clay!

But No! He stripped me as I lay helpless on the ground
and I was strengthened only to succumb to his plans.
The hound of heaven haunted and harangued me
without a crumb of lasting comfort;
save a still small voice of revelation, that grew and grew 
and lighted the dark suicidal pathways of my dreams.

The horse of power slipped away
I couldn't do a blessed thing!

Followed by every stray and untamed filly
neighing down the inner valleys of my sleepless hours!

Horses of the intellect and prestige and honour:
Shamed until I knew the peace of being un-shameable

What more could happen .. sorry thought!
For it did happen ... as fondest friends forsook.

The pain horrific as the brain sought reasons
and purpose and plans ...

Job was my food as I plodded onwards saying..
"Tomorrow I will wake and all will be well"
But all those fleshy tomorrows were but empty shells.
Still piloting by the hearing of my ears
and longing for that vision that would spell an end to Ego


Until I learned from one who emptied himself of all: (Phil 2:6-8)
Divested .. stripped of all honour and glory and innocence:
And He who knew no sin became empty and
useless and without purpose ................
except to fill Joseph of Arimathea's grave, 
and so fulfill the Fathers will.

And only then "the joy that was set before him"
... as jewel after jewel was displayed 
upon the dark clothy canvas of His Calvary
billions upon billions of exquisite human jewels 
Brilliant after the travail of his soul ..(Isa. 53:11)
and he was satisfied!

and now as member of that body..
and connected to the Head by joints and bands 
and nerve ends
I too am privileged to taste for a moment
Baptism into his pain ..... (Phil 1:29)
(before the Thessalonian curtains finally go up, (1 Thess. 4:15-18) 
..then reign with Him for endless eons of joy"

I Imagine the following scene: It takes place moments after you obtained salvation. After you were conciliated with God. (2 Cor 5:18-21)The CEO and chief strategist of the Devil are in emergency session.They are talking about you! (V.M)

"When did this awful tragedy occur?"   >>>> (Demon 1)

 "I just got word from the Dept. of Darkness (Eph 6:12) that light had exploded in him and he was instantly whisked away ..."  >>>>(Demon 2)

"But we still grasp him, drag him back down here, right?"

"Not a ghost of a chance! You see when that light makes contact the damage is already done: He literally left our area of jurisdiction at 4:18 P.M. The only way to retrieve him now is to declare war on heaven and remember how that turned out last time. No laughing matter at all!"

"So the real person  is now in a totally new kingdom and under brand new jurisdiction and authority but his old shell of a self is still here? How could this have happened? I understood you had him under special surveillance: You assured me he was safe"

"Yes master!: Ever since we detected that he may be one of those chosen for this period we kept a keen eye on him. In the last few months however the calling on his life became more and more intense: Like a pregnancy that had to come to the birth"

"Enough of the pregnancy stuff: The proceedure is clear from Romans 10:17: A heralder had to make contact some way with him for that birth to occur: You know as well as I do how the Father has openly revealed His methods so as to rub our noses in it" 

Look! there are at least 127 heralders in this area alone. Hard to keep all under surveillance day and night. Full of rivers of life and bursting with living Rhema words we need special armour to even come near them! They don't rely on  any of our systems like TV or Radio or literature. As far as we can gather it was a thin sliver of a young girl: She met him: Spoke for about 20 minutes about how God would leave the 99 saved and go in search of the last lost one! Told him of God's love for him and how God was no longer holding anything against him etc.. ... and then she was gone:"

"O.K, O.K. I get the message: No need for all the sordid details. But what can we do now? Surely there's some retaliation plan"

"We figure he will probably be here on earth for 28 more years: During that time he is under two headships: Headship of Adam lacking glory and prone to sin has to work itself out in physical death and the headship of Christ bursting with life and light and victory will work itself out in glory: We are going to work on feeding the Adam nature so the other is starved of the oxygen of the Spirit and Word and never matures properly"

"And then will we get him back to us?"

"You still don't get the picture: You will never get him back: All we can do now is limit or neutralise his effectivenes as a heralder: He's gone! Justified! Declared righteous!

"So we can still work on his Adam nature make him ineffective: O.K?"

"It is imperative first of all, I repeat imperative, that he never comes to the full realisation of who he really is: If he grasps his new identity in Christ then I fear for the whole area and generations of darkness could all come to nothing. This one is dangerous: Full of life!"

"What are you implying? That one stupid little son of Adam could undo all this? We have had total control here for 5776 years. Kill the little upstart if he is such a threat"

"No longer a son of Adam but a son of God: He's untouchable and under divine protection: Hands off! There is an intensity of light shining out from this one even at this stage I have never seen before. If he comes to know ..that he no longer lives but Christ lives in him ..and yields to Gods instructions then we are in major trouble"

"So what! We have met his type before and neutralised them totally. Remember that Samson fool and how we destroyed him by luring him into the flesh trap: You are my strategy officer: What steps do you propose to Samsonise  this one?

Of prime importance is to contact our F.O.G Dept"

"F.O.G? What is that?"

"International Groups using the name of Christ, having a Form Of Godliness... but without any real power: In other words .."A fake form of Christianity"

"Are there branches of this F.O.G institution locally?"

"You are joking I presume. We have over 1470 in this country and several in this locality. I have already identified the one I will use"

"What's it called?"

"Oh it goes by different names: God something over the door: Christ posters on the walls! Steeples and crosses and sermons and ceremonies but none of this living flow of the spirit ..and of course death on the menu in every word from the pulpit"

"Wonderful work! But I hear from my sources that huge rivers of living waters are already gushing out from this one over neighbouring villages and towns! These rivers must be diverted immediately do you hear. Dammed!"

"We are at work but my agents have no protection against that Name He is using and the power of the blood and that armour of God he is wearing: (To put it bluntly we are being wiped out at the moment) Three of my best agents blinded already and one actually in awe and asking questions about Calvary and why God's powers are greater than Satan's

Put lasting doubts in his mind about the goodness of God and totally hide from him the glories awaiting him in a few days literally"

"We have a long history of major successes but some notable fails too. Remember that guy Stephen who was facing a mob ready to lynch him: Then suddenly he seemed to step aside and saw a new reality and died almost destroying us with joy on his face and praying and forgiving his tormentors: Did untold damage to us"

"Yes I remember: We had it all set up so he would die angry and cursing all around but it backfired on us. He was the spark that brought thousands away from us, including that turn-coat Paul "

"Little we could do there as God just opened his eyes when Elisha prayed for him and the game was lost. Must remember to  stop any modern Elisha praying for this one" 

"Hope you have learned from past disasters: This must not happen here: Keep him focussed on how unfair and how awful his life is: How hard it is to be alone and all friends and colleagues gone: You know the ritual! Always works"

"Swamp him in meetings and verses and good works for fear he would ever learn that "it no longer is himself but Christ who is doing the living" If that realisation ever breaks thro' we could be seeing the great work of generations of darkness undone.

"Put a stop to this 1-2-1 WIFI or whatever damn system he has with heaven. Replace it with F.O.G bible studies and discussions and parties"

"Good idea! That 1-2-1 is the powerhouse so we will shut it down asap"

"Our  KIC programme is excellent: (i.e. keep it complicated.) Our trained men will soon have him discussing -isms and dates and philosophy so he forgets where his power source really is. He could even catch that form of spiritual alzheimers where he forgets everything except Man Utd and Rock stars and the latest craze on TV"

Blind him! Blind him! Never let him see who he really is in Christ. Keep him trying to perfect the old man until he gives up in failure and disgust:

A New Taoiseach!

I was being questioned by a fiend last week about God's input and involvement in the everyday politics and running of our nation: Since I am more and more aware that my views and opinions are those of a dead man I tried to refer him to what God says on these issues. These are difficult issues and I only hope what I have written is pleasing to God and as gentle as possible on those caught up Satan's lies. V.M

"You mean to tell me that God put Obama in the White house?"

"No doubt about it in my mind"

"But how can you say such a thing? Why would He do such a thing?"

" Maybe to show the world that even a coloured president does not have the answers. Remember God's ways are higher than ours: Who can know the mind of God?"

"Surely you're not telling me God put Trump in power?"

"Of course He did!  Is there some other supreme power out there? Lamentations 3:37 spells it out so clearly:  

"Who is who says and it comes to pass and the Lord commands it not?" 

"So what's God up to this time with Trump?"

"I don't have a clue but I trust my God:It may well be to show that even a narcissist backed by nominal christian groupings has no real answers either"

"Where are you getting this garbage from? Not from the bible I can tell you"

"Yes it is from the bible: Can you open up Romans 13 and read verse 1 for me please"

" Ok It says here: Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God:  The powers that be are ordained of God" 

"Listen: I'm confused here: So this verse is saying God allowed Leo to become Taoiseach in Ireland?"

"Sorry: You need to read that verse again: You missed something important"

"It doesn't use the word allowed, does it?"

"You're right: It says her "the powers that be are ordained of God": But is God not contradicting Himself here: Most of the bible God is totally against homosexuality and now..: I just find it all a bit hard to take."

"It's only hard if you're trying to live a Godly life feeding on a diet of endless songs, niceness and positive thinking"

"Now you hold on just one minute: I know that Worship is far more important than plunging knee deep into the bible:  We love to worship in our place, for hours on end so we do"

"Worship is wonderful but you can't actually worship God except in spirit and in truth: Without truth it may not be the God of the bible you are worshiping at all but the god of your emotions or imagination:  The more bible truth fills your soul the more meaningful becomes the worship: God is not seeking any old kind of worship: He is very specific in John 4:23 He is seeking out people who will worship by feeding intently on truth and drenched in theHoly Spirit:" 

"So how should we worship then? Is anything wrong with all this singing we go on with?"

 "Reading and teasing out the scripture is powerful worship: Praying is worship that touches the heart of God:  Walking worthily of the lord is worship that speaks publicly of God transforming power:  And last but not least  ... of course singing can be wonderful and uplifting as worship"

"Phew! I was afraid you were going knock singing on the head as well: But let's get back to Leo: You are telling me that God is handing Ireland over to the sin and debauchery it craves"

"He is handing the political leadership of the country and those who endorse such leadership over to moral  stupidity" 

"God wouldn't do that: He loves this little country: Island of saints & scholars! Land of St Patrick! Come on now!"

"Read 1 Samuel 8:6 for yourself: The people were unhappy with God's manner of administration and cried out for a king so they could be just like every other nation " And the Lord said unto Samuel, Hearken unto the voice of the people in all that they say unto thee: for they have not rejected thee, but they have rejected me, that I should not reign over them" 

"Wow! But surely your not saying that Ireland has rejected God: Come on now! See all the money we collect for charities:  We have still such a large population of Sunday church goers and our priests and preachers have traveled worldwide ...."

"Ireland has long rejected God's way: In destroying the concept of marriage; In managing school curricula to favour immorality, and ungodly practices, in forms of religion without an iota of power and in social life and media that constantly mock and blasphemes His Name. God is giving this whole nation over for a period to the foolishness they crave: We are fast becoming number one anti-God and anti Israel nation on earth"

"Tell me then why does God not just wipe us all out and be finished with it if we're that bad?"

"Because He has a heart of love and an incredible long term plan: There is a remnant here today of called out ones (ecclesia) who are indwelt by God's Holy Spirit and it is not yet time to remove that Holy Spirit from the earth: When God does remove the Holy Spirit then believers will also go with him. So we are still in the age of grace as Jesus so simply pointed out by deliberately leaving out one line in Luke 4:18"

"You are completely confusing me now: Please stop these riddles: I'm worried"

"Jesus was quoting from Isaiah 61 and quoted word for word out of a passage in isaiah 61 but left one line out; Remember:

"The spirit of the Lord is on Me, On account of which He anoints Me to bring the good news to the poor. He has commissioned Me to heal the crushed heart, To herald to captives a pardon, And to the blind the receiving of sight; To dispatch the oppressed with a pardon.To herald an acceptable year of the Lord..." .. leaving out a line:

"What line did He leave out?"

"And the day of vengeance of our God" That indicates that this era or age is not the Day of Vengeance: That day will come when nations are judged before God in the sheep and goats judgement of Matt 25:31ff

"So this present handing us over is not vengeance? Are you 100% sure of that?"

"Of course!l: God is expecting that  Grace will prevail:He has commissioned called out believers to herald tremendous news: The news is that God is not holding sinners offenses against them today: (2 Cor 5:19) and has given believers the ministry and incredible privilege of urging others to be conciliated to Him"

"So where does the believer stand in all this? 

The only safe and secure place to stand is on God's word: First we are exhorted to pray for our leaders so we may continue to enjoy peace and focus on our own Leader, Jesus Christ: So we pray for Taoiseach Leo as exhorted.

We are in general to obey all lawful authorities: Titus 3 for example says " Remind them to be subject to sovereignties, to authorities; to be yielding, and to be ready for every good work, to be calumniating (blaspheming) no one, to be pacific, lenient, displaying all meekness toward all humanity.

We are ambassadors in this world and an ambassador rarely interferes in the internal goings on of a country: (1 Cor 5:9) The ambassador represents the interests of His own country and in our case that means the interests of God's Kingdom:

BTW Paul never got involved in criticising the slave trade in Rome nor the promiscous lifestyle of its leaders: Rather He focused on those who had been extricated out of this world system: Those who had been translated from the kingdom of darkness to the kingdom of His dear son: Also note how mannerly and courteous he was in speaking to Agrippa & Festus in Acts 26.

We today are not to get involved in crude jokes or gutter conversations: "Set your eyes on things above not on things on earth":The poor folk immersed in sexual sin are locked into a lifestyle of unholy living and know no way of escape:

 Society is telling them all is normal:All is OK!:  2 + 2 is 5 and always will be! Remember also that drunkards, the greedy and idolators are very prominent also in passages dealing with paramours,catamites and sodomites.
{ 1 Cor 5: 1 Cor 6:Galatians 5: Ephesians 5: 1 Tim 1:Rev 21 & 22} 
So let each of us take heed lest we too fall back into a pit we were taken from!

Believe it or not .. the ecclesia is the world's friend in their dilemma for it pleases God to arrange things in such a way that when He is ready to gift somebody with God-Faith he calls on us believers to throw the switch for Him by heralding good news to them first: Its an incredible and gracious privilege!

The Global Cake: A Parable on the coming Christless world church

I never knew the family but they were often spoken of in hushed reverent tones in our house. They were special in so many ways. Lived in one small area and intermarried: spoke their own separate tongue. However the most intriguing aspect of their uniqueness was that they ate a special cake which distinguished them from all other families on earth Let me tell you about it:

A special recipe of ingredients was (they said) obtained miraculously and this recipe was handed down from generation to generation.These ingredients were to be followed to the T and if that was all in order then the cake had the most profound beneficial effects on all within the family who ate it: Sicknesses and diseases that plagued other families were not even mentioned among them. They enjoyed victory in battles, wonderful financial blessings and strong lasting family relationships. this was all dependent on staying with the correct ingredients and only eating that mysterious cake.

Sometimes the menu appeared quite boring and tedious. Families around them had a varied and tasty cake (without the benefits)and younger members often wandered off and ate those delicious cakes. Wow! Suddenly they became just like everybody else and succumbed to sicknesses poverty and massive failures and defeats. Didn't take long for them to abandon their foolishness and follow family tradition.This amazing to-ing and fro-ing lasted a long time.  

Then one day a son of the original creator of the cake arrived on the scene quite unexpectedly. There was great excitement and expectation until he announced that he was temporarily suspending the original menu:The former tried and tested list of ingredients was to be put on ice for a period and a new type of cake entirely introduced with new ingredients. This new cake was to be enjoyed by all families he said.

The new cake and it's benefits was indeed to be for all and not the sole prerogative of just one family. Talk about jealousy! There was uproar and pandemonium: Some doggedly stuck with the original cake formula: Others were elated and welcomed the new type of cake with open arms, especially as it carried very special benefits and blessings.

The majority went for a mish-mash compromise cake containing some of the old and some of the new ingredients.I think it was the Stantine family led by the youngest boy Con who took the matter in hand and settled matters by reducing the number of ingredients to the bare minimum and enforcing his views on all. He was also quite clever in calling the new cake by a special name --- Cakeianity: Over a period all copies of the son's cake were destroyed and peace of a sort prevailed. Naturally the ordinary folk were confused but for the sake of peace went along with Con and all he proposed. After all his family owned the bakery.

But you always have troublemakers. Some boys began to print their own books on what they insisted were copies of the old formulae.To the amazement of all they even had the audacity to open their own bakeries.Only one answer to that type of carry on and 50 million of them died off in mysterious agony. Probably food poisoning of a sort!

A lovely smiling man took over the bakery a few years ago. His aim is to win over or buy out all small bakeries and develop a "one type fits all" cake in his expanded and enlarged super bakery. At first there were objections but now it seems "The Protest Is Over" The new bakery may be opened very soon. All expect this will go as planned and the 500 years of protests will be ended for ever!  Good tidings of great joy will be imposed on all!
